Capital One Commercial Concept Pitches
When Capital One wanted to know what a branded Investing commercial might look like, the VP of Marketing tapped me for ideas. Knowing the audience was Capital One CEO Rich Fairbank—and ultimately everyone familiar with the "What's in your wallet?" tagline—I explored familiar witty, spokesperson-centered concepts. End result: "Genius." Fairbank thought some of my scripts were better than commercials Capital One had already shot. Ka-ching. What would Samuel L. Jackson say about Capital One Investing? In this concept, he highlights a major differentiator between that business and others in the space: fair, equal treatment of all investors. Delivered with his gravitas, this edgy messaging delivers a memorable punch—even on the page.
How about Mindy Kaling? In this concept, she focuses on how potential customers are treated elsewhere versus at Capital One Investing—with her signature likability.
Here Sam points out the lack of integrity in the investing industry—and the refreshing honesty of Capital One Investing.
Kerry Washington is not standing for other companies’ commission models in this concept.
Jason Bateman connects the dots—with a dash of the memorably, typical absurd—between investing and saving the world.
Sam again, mocking investment companies that sell proprietary products.
